Dear members and such who want to become one!

The Circle of Shadows were founded to have a corporation in which the fun and the cooperativeness of the members is a main attribute. Circle of Shadows is NOT a powergamer corp, instead the members have all a reallife and play EVE, because they enjoy playing it. That does not mean that CoS has no goals and doesn't want to grow up or be successful, rather we want to play a decent role in New Eden.

Of course, every corp in EVE need its rules and articles of association. This is very important, because we do not want to have a class society.

1. Help somebody so that somebody helps you!
CoS wants friendly interaction between corp members and helpfulness among each other. We play because of fun, community and all the stuff you like on EVE-Online. Further all members should be friendly and fair to all other players out there in the EVE universe. Which not mean that we are not shooting at others, this is ment for conversation and meta gaming behaviour.

2. Activity
Everybody can decide on its own when and how long he is playing. The same holds for corp operations. If you have time you should participate, but to be online is no must. Of course, if somebody does everything alone he is surely not the right one for our corporation. CoS supports team play, but it doesn't force it. Activities are announced on a regular base in the event calendar of the website. All members are requested to register there for the ops they want participate. Further, members have the ability to announce their own ops, where they want to have some company.

3. Cheating and thievery
People who cheat or steal from corp possessions are no friends of the corp and are no longer corp members.

4. Something to say
CoS has its own website www.eve-cos.info. All members have to register there to get actual information and news. This is essential for a good working community.

5. Organisation
The Circle of Shadows has the following structure:

  • A CEO which is the representitive of the corp
  • One or two Co-CEOs which are the representitives if the CEO is not online.
  • Followed by the CoS Leadership, which consist of a few high ranked corp members. They are involved into the major decisions.
  • The CoS Council, consist of the leadership and several long term members. For impotant issues which major impact on all of the members, the councils voice is heared to allow a decision which has the support of the majority of the membership.
  • The CoS Commanders consist of very experienced members of the most important sections. They schedule ops and command the fleets.

6. Strategic Decisions
The corp's strategic decisions are made by the CEO.

Strategic decisions include:

  • Movement of the corp headquarter
  • Acquisition of new corp offices
  • Nomination and dismissal of commanders
  • Granting of rights for directors and normal members
  • Amount of tax
  • Building and setting up corp towers
  • Political decisions like alliance memberships, solar system claims
  • Punishment in proven cases (this needs confidence with at least 1 member of the leadership)

The CEO is allowed to transfer parts of his rights to any section director of his choice.

8. Recruiting
CoS is looking for new members that go with our corp rules and our interests. The contact person for new members is the CEO, Co-CEO. Of course, all members can and should acquire new friends and members for the corp. New members have an recruitment phase in which they can get to know all the other members and settle in. After this phase they become, with the CEOs agreement, a full member.

Requirement for new members are:

  • no trial account
  • a minimum of 5m skill points
  • limited API key upon request

It is obligatory to register on the Forums and insert the character data on our CoS Tool sections.

9. Corp Wallet
The corp wallet is used only for corp related things. CoS want that all members have also personal assets. The corp is trying to support the members as much as possible.

The corp's expenses are composed of:

  • Fees for corp offices and alliance membership
  • Corp BPOs and Invention
  • Fuel costs
  • Loss compensation/reimbursement
  • Credits and Funding (application needed)
  • NOT for member ships & items, trading, private acquisition

The corp's income is composed of the following things:

  • Tax: 20% (is automatically transferred to the corp wallet)
  • All miners are pleased sell their ore to the corp if needed.
  • Miners/Traders are pleased to give an adequat part of their mining income to the corp
  • Income through mineral and item sale
  • Corp operations
  • Donations (Of course, every donation is welcome)

10. The CoS Fleet / Loss Compensation
Couse you pay tax and work a lot for the corp, the corp is providing ships for member use if members can't afford on their own. Further members can apply for reimbursement accordig to the reimbursment conditions, which are available on the forums. The conditions can change according to the financial situtation of the corp.
