As you may have noticed after yesterday's downtime, CVA still has its sovereignity. A closer look will show you that the closed flag is away and with a look on dotlan's eve infomratio nsite you will see that all corps and are back in alliance. The reason is simply, that CCP investigated the issue and found out that the account was hacked by ISK sellers (according to CCP Wranglers post). Thats why CCP decided to restore the alliance. CVA was a really interesting alliance in New Eden and would be great loss in sense of roleplay in the game. |
DevBlog: Fleet Management
CCP just announced in another DevBlog that they plan to improve the fleet tools. This will contain
- more deteiled fleet overview with an all-in-one window
- a tab were you can announce fleets and look for actual open fleets
- more detailed broadcast mechanisms
Especially the fleet gathering tool could be a nice feature. Ides is you can open a fleet and specify what kinds of pilots you want to have within. Then this will be visibal for corporation or alliance and people can join your fleet if interested. This will remove the old "x -up now" posts in chat. Further whenever you log in you have the chance to see whats going on and who is needing pilots in fleet.
The broadcast mechanics are also revamped and will allow a more detailed spreading of commands, like e.g. to all fleet pilots in system or to all squad leaders. Which will make handling of large fleets easier.
Just let us hope that the additional degree of detail will not lead into a messy interface where noone really knows where to click to make things working, like the role & title management for corp members.
Breaking News: CVA disbanding
Curatores Veritates Alliance (CVA) closed today. A massive sov drop is expected to start with DT on 28th of October. Besides a lot of rumours around there is no official reason known yet, but CVA statement will surely follow soon.
CVA was foundes in November 2004 and at last has sovereignity in 48 systems with 24 outposts belonging to them. Todays member count was at 1342 pilots within 26 corporations. These numbers alone tell a lot about the major role CVA played in the southern parts of New Eden politics. Furture will tell who and if someone will replace them.

Dominion: New dev blog regarding faction ships
A new dev blog article by CCP Ytterbium was just published and focusing on the changes to faction ships applied with Dominion. The blog is mainly written in a Q&A style and tries to answer the most common questions about the new expansion regarding these types of ships.
An important sitenote and hint for everyone having a faction ship was mentioned by CCP Ytterbium:
"Remember that due to the magnitude and nature of this change, you may fly a ship that has its slot layout changed during Dominion. If that is the case we highly recommend you to dock before the expansion downtime to minimize any issue that could possible arise after."
But read yourself http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=705
Dominion: Supercarriers
Capital and super capital ships will under go a lot of changes with the upcoming expansion Dominion. The core idea is to give the former called Motherships a clear task they can perform and not to be the "alt-trained-sitting-at-pos" ship. Main changes for the, now named "super carriers", will be:
- The ability for Supercarriers to fit Triage modules.
- The ability for Supercarriers to fit Clone Vat Bays.
- The ability for Supercarriers to fit one additional Warfare Link per level.
Further Fighter Bombers will be introduced, which function as the knowen fighters but are much more advanced against other capital ships. As CCP Abathur said
"In addition to receiving their own hit point boost, Supercarriers are going to get new teeth in the form of the deadly new Fighter Bombers they can launch"
The supercapital test weekend on Singularity showed that these fighters seam to be a really nice and effective addition for supercarriers. But as usual the real application and usage will be done by the players after the expansion is deployed. So, as often, we need to wait for "Patchday".
